The dam's sire, Heartbreaker, is deemed a trademark stallion in modern day jumper breeding.Cadiz' dam Seraphina is by Shakespeare x Potsdam NRW. Shakespeare comes from a performance line that has produced outstanding sport horses. His sire Samico F won advanced (S) level dressage classes and Shakespeare's grandparents, Samber, Indra and Amour A won ribbons in show jumping up to advanced (S) level. Samber, by the Thoroughbred stallion Pericles XX, sired a number of licensed stallions and fulfilled his performance requirements for licensing by placing in advanced (S) level dressage tests as well as advanced level show jumping. Seraphina is by Potsdam NRW, a Polydor son who won ribbons in international competitions with Kaiser Johannsmann.
